Client Brief

To re-create the garden into a practical, inviting and relaxing space.

Plan To Garden Approach

Whilst retaining the York stone terrace in its original position, everything else was removed from the garden. The addition of a circular pond with running fountain has created a feeling of relaxation and calm. Curved serpentine steps have been installed giving access along the terrace and down into the garden. Here, curved beds have been created to work in harmony with the shape of the steps, and the planting of these has been carefully planned to ensure structure and colour throughout the year. Terraces within the garden offer areas of relaxation. A bespoke oak loggia has been built on the terrace and a further oak building has been constructed with the dual purpose of an outside office and additional accommodation. Carefully planned lighting of the project has added to the overall calm and relaxed atmosphere of the garden.
